Ford Fusion is one of the most popular vehicles manufactured by Ford. In the first few years, it has been able to attract a lot of consumers because of its sleek looks and powerful engines. However, many people have been complaining about engine problems and general malfunctions, which have resulted in large sums of lawsuits filed by Ford customers worldwide. So far, there have been no major courtroom verdicts on the Ford Fusion cases, but this could change in the future.

The judge has not yet approved the settlement.
This lawsuit is just the latest case filed by Ford Ecoboost owners, who say that their vehicles have also been defective and are seeking compensation for their troubles.
Many people argue that Ford should have never brought the Ecoboost model into the market, because it was an older design that was not up to modern auto safety standards. But, Ford contends that it did introduce an improved model and named it the Ford Fusion. As part of the deal, the company promised to fix any vehicle that broke down within a specific period of time, or had any safety-related defect. But, the class members say that Ford has failed to live up to its promises.

I purchased my 2016 Ford Fusion in August of 2017, with 20,000 miles on the car. I was the second owner and maintained the car well. I had very few issues with the car during the last 4+ years I have owned it, until earlier this month. My Fusion currently has 91,000 miles on it.
During the second week of November of 2021, I was driving and the check engine light popped on. Then the car immediately seemed to “stumble”, so I pulled over. Next, I took the car to the dealership – as I knew there was a serious issue with the car. Again, the Fusion had no problems prior to this. The dealership called me and told me that the car was sending out codes for misfires in engine cylinders 1 & 3. They looked into the issue and found that the engine coolant level was low, they removed the spark plugs, and found the coolant leaking into the engine cylinders 1 & 3 (very damaged), and needs a short block replacement.

Total Cost of Repair: $6,640.13
The Fusion is paid off, but now I’m trying to decide whether it’s worth repairing my Fusion or simply trading it in as is & purchasing/leasing another car. Not happy with the way things went.
